Four People Shot at Howe Community Park — Unlawful Gathering Descends into Chaos
Saturday night, an unapproved gathering of several hundred people at Howe Community Park in Sacramento's Arden-Arcade area became the scene of a shooting when 20 to 25 gunshots filled the air as Sacramento County law enforcement were working to clearing the crowd.
The Incident
Around 6:30 in the evening, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office was notified concerning individuals possibly carrying concealed weapons at Howe Community Park. Another caller mentioned a possible physical altercation and people leaving the area quickly.
Aerial units was dispatched and surveyed the area from above but could not find the reported fight.
Nonetheless, hundreds of individuals had come together at Howe Community Park for what law enforcement classified as an unsanctioned event. Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies formed a perimeter around the park, activated emergency lights, and dedicated around 15 minutes ordering the crowd to disperse via loudspeaker announcements.

Shooting Victims
